Why Join?

Why should your organization join?
There are many industry associations that bring together vast numbers of healthcare information technology (HIT) people, but none that brings together a concentrated group such as the HSC to discuss health standards that cross many SDO’s.

Can my organization join?
We invite any organization that works with healthcare IT to submit an application to join. Click here to start the application. Once submitted, it is presented to the current member body to approve. This process should not take longer than 10-20 days.

Can an individual join the HSC?
The HSC is formed of executives of SDO and SDO-related organizations. The HSC is focused on the collaboration of the SDOs. For associations, vendors, implementers, etc, the HSC recommends that it is more appropriate to participate at the appropriate SDO, where requests from the SDO will be brought to the HSC via the SDO representative.

I. Standards Development Organizations (SDOs)

The membership shall consist of executive leader representative of standards development organizations (primary and alternates).

II. Standards Development Organizations-related entities

The membership shall consist of executive leader representative (primary and alternates) of other invited organizations with direct or indirect involvement with SDOs (i.e., WEDI, etc.). SDO-related entities include government, corporate, and other business entities active and/or interested in the field of health informatics, including health data acquisition, handling (including communications interchange), and processing.

III. Official Observer

The membership shall consist of executive leader representative (primary and alternates) of standards development organizations or other invited organizations with direct or indirect involvement with SDOs who wish to be members, without voting rights. Official Observer entities include government, corporate, and other business entities active and/or interested in the field of health informatics, including health data acquisition, handling (including communications interchange), and processing.
